Dean Sadyrzhan Barker is an unapologetic wild thing, traveling DJ, music producer, horticulturist, child of the ’80s and an accidental chef. Just like Max in the Maurice Sendak classic Where the Wild Things Are, he loves to create a ruckus and looks forward to the day when he can live in his own underground forest. Originally studying fine art, painting, graphic design and sound engineering, Dean first cut his teeth in Erik Ramirez’ Peruvian Japanese fine dining restaurant Raymi. Moving forward to work with Vietnamese Chinese Hung Huynh which bred and baked his love for Asian inspired cuisine. Not fond of name dropping; Dean has cooked and created for countless celebrities yet doesn’t bother to mention what and who as he thinks the food speaks for itself in its purist form; art.
